Hand PCB Drill : Idea Coneption to Failure

05 Sep

Hi guyz, this was a really nice percepted hand pcb drill project i started in the evening with great excitement hoping to finish it in 24 hrs only. You won’t believe that it took about 6hrs to build the chuk only after lot of intellectual innovations. At last i got the chuk build and was sure that it will work atleast 80-90% the right way centered.I did the initial test on motor and uyhuuuuh it ran successfully and even the drill was nearly 95% centered and it was a joy drilling with the raw machine(unfinished).I got myself a medicine casing which i thought of using as a case for the hand drill and i started building it the same time from scratch to give it a neat professional look and feel.I spent about the whole night (~15+ hrs) in making and testing the project again and again. As the progress is also depicted through pictures below with the intention to publish this DIY in EFY magazine. But at the end the results were rather worst than expected.Although i had fixed the motor to the casing suertightly as i can with rubbererd booting and screws, when i ran it this time the whole bit was shaking like hell and was out of center about 50% the previous case. And it was like hell.At the end i come to see that the chuk i made was a little unstable while rotating, and running it in the case was adding more vibrations of the casing too and the final results were worser that worse. The drill was working fine although with all the casing removed. Now i have to use it without this lovely casing that i made spending very long till night until i get a new stable CHUK for the same. Please help me find a CHUK(premade) that can readily fit on this motor. Thanks in advance.

I am planning now to buy a professional PCB drill kit now,because it is only the CHUK that is hard to make for a small drill like this.DSC01373DSC01376DSC01377 DSC01380 DSC01382 DSC01385 DSC01386 DSC01387 DSC01388 DSC01389 DSC01394 DSC01396 DSC01399 DSC01400 DSC01401 DSC01403 DSC01404 DSC01405 DSC01408 DSC01409 DSC01410 DSC01411 DSC01412 DSC01413 DSC01414 DSC01417 DSC01418 DSC01422 DSC01425 DSC01426 DSC01428 DSC01430
